Sapphires are mostly famous for their clear and blue variants, but pink is an increasingly popular colour for this famous stone because of its mellow tone and its ability to go with just about anything else. It’s a great choice for nesting among other stones because its subtle tone complements brighter colours around it, and most metals look amazing when paired with it. That’s why I chose to use Pink Sapphire in this Silver and Gold ring, because I wanted to create a piece that was balanced between the beauty of the metal and the beauty of the gem rather than focussed on one or the other.
In this ring, the Pink Sapphire doesn’t crowd or overtake the look of the silver band with gold detailing. I use Sterling Silver in this ring for its high quality and purity, and 9 carat gold in the shoulders to add a subtle distinction into the overall feel of the piece. I make the whole ring from start to finish in my workshop in England, so you can be sure the same care an attention has gone into each part from start to finish.
