A beautiful stone deserves the purest setting to let its natural clarity and colour shine through, and that’s exactly why I created this satin polished tension ring as our canvas.
Made from solid sterling silver, this ring’s simplicity is deceptive, using a hand made tension setting to carry the stone invisibly on its shoulders – allowing as much light in as possible to illuminate the brilliance of one of our high-quality natural gemstones.
Which stone you choose is up to you, and with a huge selection to choose from including London Blue Topaz, Swiss Blue Topaz, Garnet, Peridot, Amethyst, White Cubic Zirconium, Champagne Cubic Zirconium, Citrine and Lolite, you have the ability to craft a unique piece of jewellery that’s just for you.
When it comes to creating our locally handmade jewellery, I believe that simplicity is best and the stones should be allowed to speak for themselves. The rest is up to you. My rings make the perfect gift for a birthday, Anniversary or Christmas, or even as a gift to yourself, and with so much meaning behind each brilliant stone, every piece we make has a story behind it, one which I can help you to craft.
Below is a list of birthstones by month.
June: Pearl, Moonstone
November: Topaz or Citrine,
December: Tanzanite or Turquoise
I would be more than happy to discuss any gemstones or sizes which are not listed.
Tension setting is a method of holding a gemstone in a ring so that it appears suspended in mid-air. Despite it appearing to be precariously held, there are two factors that ensure that the stone is securely fixed in place.
One being the thickness of the precious metal is vital in ensuring that there is enough tensile strength so as to allow the jewel to not be affected during everyday wear.
Secondly, a small concave groove is accurately cut by hand to match the shape of the edge of each stone, so that when the pressure of the setting is applied, it sits perfectly within.
I can also make these rings in smaller or larger sizes other than those listed.
